About Me

I’m a 46 year old Information Technology and Management Consultant based in Zurich, Switzerland.

I grew up in the southern part of Africa in the region which is today Zambia and Zimbabwe. After having spent a good part of my youth in various countries around the globe I permanently settled down in Switzerland.

Education plays a key role in my life. On one hand, I serve on the board of governors of a local high school. This gives me the opportunity to do my part and help increase the quality of our educational system.  On the other hand, I have been involved for the better part of my adult life in continuing education.

Professionally I’m at home in several different fields: Business Intelligence, Predictive Analytics, IT Security & Audit, Systems Engineering, Business Process Management (BPM), Requirements Engineering (RE) and Software Evaluation. Thus I have the opportunity to frequently consult companies in Switzerland and Europe in these fields.  Since 2006 I also work for a medium sized private hospital in Zurich as CIO, where I am mainly involved in Systems Engineering and Software Evaluation.

I live and work at the intersection of two major and fascinating academic fields:  Having earned degrees in both, Business Administration and Information Technology, I am able to listen to people from both worlds and help them choose and implement the right technology and business process solutions.

My academic hobbies include research and consulting in various areas of management practices, such as leadership, knowledge management, communication & presentation and similar. Non-academic hobbies include mountaineering (free riding, touring, skiing) traveling and sailing (or a combination thereof, whenever possible).

So that’s it for now. If you would like to have more information on my professional or academic background and experience please visit the respective pages on this site. You will need a password to access this information which I will be glad to provide upon request.

Thanks for visiting my blog!

Boris
